Simon Matravers is one of the most important figures in the history of EPIC DOOM , mainly due to his role as the lead singer in one of the best known records of the 90s, Lamentations by SOLSTICE. His special vocal lines are also  present in the tracks on Halcyon EP which marked  the evolution of the English band. Hearing him after two decades feels like an important return,  despite the fact that his voice sounds different, and this change affects the atmosphere of Angelcynn. The tracks on the first release by ENVOY OF DEATH RECORDS possess the same alchemy of some of the underrated classics of this genre, where a raw recording is set in contrast with an evocative scent. The melacholic advance towards "The Prince" is reminiscent of Ghostlands by ICEFALL, even  if the arrangement could have been better. Still, however, you will have the impression that you're listening to an EP made with passion.
